Amazon.com The Duracell Powersource Mobile 100 is a revolutionary new stand-alone power solution for the traveler on-the-go. Employing a powerful battery pack and having both AC and USB outlets, you'll never find yourself without a convenient power source for all your mobile electronics. Duracell Powersource Mobile 100 makes carrying multiple cords, chargers, and device-specific batteries a thing of the past. Duracell Powersource Mobile 100 runs multiple devices for hours. | Packed with Features The Duracell Powersource Mobile 100 is packed with features that will keep you up and running while you are out-and-about. It combines a capable 100-watt power inverter with a powerful 4 amp-hour lithium-ion battery pack. Lithium-ion batteries are well renowned for their light weight, reliable rechargability, and a remarkably slow loss of power when not in use. This means long-lasting power will be ready to go when you are. The 100-watt inverter is paired with a grounded AC outlet and two USB sockets. It is strong enough to recharge your equipment's batteries and provide power for nearly all of your electronic needs --it can even power many small appliances. The included lightweight AC charging adapter will recharge the unit from any household electrical outlet. The DC charging cable allows for recharging via any vehicle cigarette-lighter outlet or compatible airplane connector. LED indicators signal on/off and battery charge status, so you'll always know how much power remains. Perfect for Travelers Duracell's Powersource Mobile 100 is ideal for those who frequently travel. If your laptop battery runs low or you need more play time with your MP3 player, portable gaming console or DVD player, just connect your device into the AC outlet and keep going. It can power your equipment directly, or simply recharge the batteries. The two USB ports will keep your BlackBerry, iPaq, Palm, or iPod devices charged and ready to go when you need them the most. Additionally, you can plug the unit in and recharge multiple devices indefinitely. The mighty battery provides up to 2 additional hours of runtime for a laptop, 12 hours of playtime for a PlayStation Portable, and an amazing 44 additional hours of music for an iPod. BlackBerry devices get 34 more days of standby, while standard mobile phones gain 12 additional days. The Powersource Mobile 100 not only frees you from carrying extra cords and batteries, but it saves you money as well as space in your bags. Duracell Powersource Mobile 100 Protects Your Equipment The Duracell Powersource Mobile 100 has several features to keep both you and your devices safe. Over-temperature shutdown keeps the unit from overheating under extreme conditions and prevents fires. The overload shutdown ensures that the unit's battery does not become damaged from over-charging. Low-battery voltage shutdown turns the unit off when there is insufficient energy to power your devices, keeping the internal circuitry of your mobile electronics safe from harm. An included Electronic Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter immediately terminates power if the unit is exposed to water or other liquids that could cause a short circuit. The Powersource Mobile 100 also comes with a one-year warranty.

It works. March 6, 2010 James R. Duhl (Roseville, MN USA) Some people don't know the details about power supplies like this. This one requires a long answer.
The PowerSource will provide about 45 Watt Hours. It has a limit of 60 watts from the battery and 80 watts from the 12 volt input. It has a 100 Watt surge limit for a short time.
Translation: the run time depends on your computer and the existing charge level when you plug it in to the PowerSource.
If your laptop batteries are run down, the PowerSource probably will NOT operate it.
If you remove the batteries it may work. It may also work to charge with the laptop off.
If you run it with the 12 volt input it may operate your laptop.
The reason for this is; your laptop uses twice as much power to run if it charges the batteries at the same time.
It will work, if you plug the laptop into the PowerSource before you run down the batteries.
I tested my HP dual core laptop watching movies over the WIFI link. It ran 1 hour and 35 minutes on the PowerSource then 2 and a half hour on its own batteries. Same test, next day, same results.
This would be 4 hours on an airline flight. It will power a Zune or IPod for a long time.
The more powerful the laptop, the shorter the battery life. Your mileage may vary.
It includes a special plug that work on some airlines power jacks.
Many smart phones use a specially wired charger to charge from the wall and will only charge from a computer IF the computer has a data connection to the smart phone. A different USB cable will not help, unless it is wired special. A cheat that works on some Smart Phones is to plug it in then reboot the smart phone.
I recommend it.
Duracell Powersource February 18, 2010 Robert Downey (San Diego, CA) This will not run a laptop for very long. For items with low current draw (what I purchased it to use with) it works great and has excellent battery life. It also has convenient USB ports which are great for charging iPhones and other items with USB chargers.
Reasonable performance for its size February 17, 2010 skimetron (Palo Alto, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This item had already been opened and appeared used when I received it, and it was stamped with a manufacturing date of Nov 2006 (over three years ago!). But it was still partially charged, so I now think it was opened at the factory and charged, then resealed with staples.
I tested it and found that it takes about 4 hours to charge with AC household power. I haven't yet tried charging it or using it as an inverter in my car.
It will light a 13 watt CFL light bulb for 3 to 4 hours. That seems reasonable for how small this unit is, especially considering that the inverter is built in. My other powerpack will light this bulb for many more hours, but it is far larger and heavier (about 20 pounds).
If you're looking for a fairly small and light rechargable battery which will charge electronics like cell phones via USB and also provide light duty AC power for lights and powering netbooks, this is a good option.
lemon or junk February 5, 2010 Bodiddely (New Mexico) I purchased both the xantrex Powersource mobile 100 and then this Duracell labelled model a little over a month ago. They are both made by Xantrex, and identical in every way, except the Xantrex works great, and the Duracell version doesn't work at all. With the Xantrex model, I charged my itouch 2G and 4 different cell phones using the usb port from the internal battery, and ran my small 13in TV using the 120V port and the internal battery. Basically runs everything I tried (though I have not tried out the inverter function in my truck cigarette lighter yet). Later I saw this duracell version costing much less, and thought I'd found a winner (Xantrex $100, Duracell $42) From day one the duracell one won't hold a charge and I get the alarm and red light as soon as I try to turn it on. Guess you get what you pay for, but the duracell isn't even worth 2 cents. Maybe it's a lemon, or maybe Duracell thought they were getting a good deal. BTW, the manufacture date on the xantrex was Oct 2006, and the duracell was Nov 2006. That's right, I said 06! Perhaps the Duracell was stored in a hotter warehouse all that time and ruined the battery. Regardless, 3+ years is a long time for any electronic device (especialy with rechargable battery) to sit around. Hey Amazon and vendors, clear out your old inventory somewhere else!
USED & Repackaged Bettery?!?! December 19, 2009 P. Roscom (OK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Warning note to prospective buyers of this battery: This item is advertised as "brand new", just received mine today and it was a "used battery". Battery even had some dirt on it, hard plastic pacakaging was clumsily stapled back in place. There is another earlier warning review on this about also getting a used battery. Whether this battery is good or not, cannot tell at this point, since it will be returned. I will find something else to buy, or take another risk of getting another used battery, not!.
