seems to be a good inverter. Does everything i want it to without complaint on my boat, running off of solar-charged golfcart batteries. It is very nice that the thermostatically controlled fan doesn't turn on unless you are using a lot of juice. My old inverter had a fan that was always on, even when charging an ipod or cellphone - super-annoying! So, this one is great, so far!

I've done a lot of home wiring but wouldn't tackle this one on my own. This requires some pretty sophisticated work to install it in a vehicle. I'm going to sell it on Ebay and just use a 750 watt inverter that can clamp to the battery posts and that's all you do to get it operational. Wasn't looking for a permanent installation. This doesn't come with any pigtails or such either. Sort of feel like I've been sold a bill of false goods as nowhere in the description does it say this is not for your everyday DIY'er.

I originally bought this to power a 1000 W immersion heater, but the heater apparently pulls more like 1200 W. This inverter would trip almost immediately upon turning on the immersion heater. I exchanged this for a Cobra 1500 W inverter, and have never had a problem. So, don't get a 1000 W inverter if you have a 1000 W load.
