The grounded AC outlet and USB charging port can provide a total of 130 watts of continuous output power and a peak output power of 175 watts. Didn't work for me as promised July 22, 2010 Ben Brumley I bought this and a Dell official car adapter. I have a Dell Precision M4400 and it didn't work at all. It would start to power, then cycle off. I tried to power my Verizon MiFi and it didn't work either.
Another thing that sucks is that there is a power button. Once the car is started you then have to hit the power button. Why not just have a rocker switch and leave it on?
Would not buy again or recommend to anyone
Seems to work well. July 22, 2010 Jason A. Shykowski (Roseville, CA) I have only had this product for a short time. It charged my cell phone just fine.
Not enough power July 11, 2010 Gregory Warren (Santa Fe, NM USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking for a replacement for my iGO 130 watt power supply that burned out and decided to try the inverter route. The Duracell looked like a good fit with my laptop (Dell Precision M4400). It is not. Even when I start on battery and then plug in the Duracell starts switching on and off about 12 to 15 times a minute after about 3-5 minutes. Once I get back to the US, I will be looking for a different inverter.
#1 for a reason July 3, 2010 Corey L. Oakes (TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Arrived quickly and was securely and neatly packaged.
I purchased this for an extended trip to power a laptop and charge several USB devices.
It effortlessly (and safely) converts the cigarette lighter into an American standard wall outlet with a USB charger port. It is light-weight, slimline, quiet and would win a beauty contest against its competition.
Compared to the slightly cheaper but much larger and more bulky Cobra inverter I purchased at the same time (Cobra CPI 480 400 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power Inverter with 5 Volt USB output) I prefer this one hands down. It performs the same tasks I require but is more appealing because it takes up less space and looks great!
This is a very good, high quality product that looks great and does the job it is advertised to do.
Great product for the price June 29, 2010 atkinsd 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Pros:
- Compact size.
- USB port as well as standard outlet.
- Doesn't get too hot.
- Battery clips included.
Cons:
- Charges relatively slowly.
- Power button switches to off when the car is no longer powered. (This may be a safety feature but it's a pain when you stop for gas and forget to turn it back on to continue charging your devices.
All in all, I'm happy with this purchase. The ability to charge multiple devices while on road trips as well as it's compact design make it well worth the price. I would recommend it to friends although I wish it would charge a bit faster.
